The Goodwood Weekender is jam packed with adventure and activities. Please find an overview of the weekend below.
Please Note: A full programme of activities, including timings, will be released before the event. There will also be printed copies available on the weekend.
Friday Night
When you arrive on Friday Night the first thing you will need to do is head over to the red registration tent. Each participant and leader will need to ensure they have their completed registration forms with them. You will then be assigned a site and you'll be able to set up your camp.
To start the excitement for the weekend there will a central disco and a bit of karaoke in the big marquee followed by a Silent Disco.
On Friday night we'll also have a leaders' meeting where one Explorer and Leader from each group must attend.
Saturday
Saturday is the main day at Goodwood. Our activities usually start at 9.30am and the majority finish at 4.30pm (you will be able to check on the programme issued at the start of the weekend). Activities include kayaking, axe throwing, climbing, shooting, caving and archery to name a few. Keep up to date with what activities are happening by following us on Facebook.
The Goodwood Grill will be open at key points throughout the day so why not pop in for snacks and a brew to keep you going.
In the evening it's our fancy dress disco! This year's disco theme is Hi-Viz rave so why not dress to impress! We look forward to seeing many people dressed up and there will be prizes for best individual and best team. There will even be some games throughout the evening!
Sunday
Do you think your unit is the king of volleyball, tough enough to win tug of war or footballing champions? Sunday morning starts off with our inter-unit competitions on the main field.
After lunch it's the Goodwood assault course. Be prepared to get muddy and wet as you crawl and climb your way through the course. Will your unit conquer the challenge?
The evening is a lot more chilled. Starting off with a quiz night in the marquee to test your grey matter. After the quiz finishes we will be showing a movie in the marquee allowing you to chill out - why not bring your sleeping bag along with you?
Monday Morning
There's no activities today so why not head up to the Goodwood Grill to get yourself a full English breakfast before you pack up and leave?
There will be a central flag break at 10.30am, we ask for all groups to attend. At flag break we will be presenting the awards for the champions of the games and competitions.
To help with the closing of the event we ask for all groups to be offsite by 1pm.
The Goodwood Grill
Our on site cafe, The Goodwood Grill, serves reasonably priced food from Friday night to Monday morning. The grill takes card or cash and is open for an early morning breakfast, mid morning snack or a cheeky midnight burger - our opening times will be published nearer to the event..
The Goodwood Grill menu covers breakfast, lunch and tea. Not only that, food from the Grill is reasonably priced to help your money go even further.
